Robert A. Diehl, MA, CAP, PA

Psychotherapist, Counselor, Consultant

I have been in private practice in the Boulder/Denver area since 1979. I have degrees in Religious Studies, Counseling Psychology, and completed five years of post-graduate studies in Clinical Psychology. My Practicum and Internship were at Adams County Mental Health Center, completing rotations in psychological testing, child and adolescent assessment and psychotherapy, and treatment of severe mental illness in adults. My Masters Internship was at the Wardenburg Student Health Center, University of Colorado, as a member of a multidisciplinary wholistic health center responsible for individual  and group psychotherapy and assessment.

Early in my career, I taught elementary science in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles, was a counselor in a residential treatment center for adolescents, served as an inpatient psychiatric mental health counselor for adolescents and adults, as well as being an outpatient psychotherapist and crisis team member at Adams County Mental Health Center. I was also on the staff of Boulder Memorial Hospital and the Boulder County Pain Control Center, and was Clinical Director of their Headache Treatment Clinic.

I am currently on the Adjunct Faculty of Naropa University’s undergraduate Contemplative Psychology Department, where I teach “Introduction to the Psychology of C.G. Jung and “Exploring Dream Psychology.” I also taught “The Dynamics of Intimate Relationship” for several years to graduate and undergraduate students. I am a mentor in Naropa’s Interdisciplinary Studies Department. I was a founding member of Boulder Friends of Jung, serving on the Board as Vice President, was a member of the Program Committee and chaired the AV Committee.
